The Omak Stampede and World Famous Suicide Race

For 75 years the Omak Stampede and World Famous Suicide Race has been one of the most well recognized western festivals in the World. August of 2009 the Omak Stampede will usher in a new era, with the introduction of the new Omak Stampede arena. Log on the www.omakstampede.org and you can keep track of the progress of the new arena project as it takes place. The Stampede's website says...

“The new arena will allow the 75 year old traditions of the Omak Stampede to continue well into the future. While funding for the demolition and reconstruction of the existing wooden grandstands is secured, the current budget does not include dollars for any contingencies, restrooms, concession stands, beverage gardens, ticket booths or replacement of existing chutes, pens and other rodeo necessities. You can support the rich legacy of the Omak Stampede by purchasing a brass plaque for a chair or bleacher back or sponsoring the construction of restrooms, concession stands, beverage gardens, ticket booths or replacement of existing chutes, pens and other rodeo necessities. These unique gifts and contributions will be a treasured memory for family and friends who visit the Stampede Arena for many years to come.�
