"Steve's heading to his hometown this week..."
I grew up in the Klamath Falls, Oregon area, in a little town southeast of Klamath Falls called Malin just a mile north of the Oregon/California border. So the chance to return home to the Klamath County Fairgrounds, where I used to sell 4-H animals when I was a kid, is really special to me.
The Great Northwest Pro Rodeo in Klamath Falls has attracted a pretty good looking contestant list. That list includes World Standings Leader Bobby Mote in the bareback riding, 2004 World Steer Wrestling Champion Luke Branquinho, the father-son team roping combination of Mike and Brandon Beers, and Columbia River Circuit Finalist and Canadian Champion Tie Down Roper Tyson Durfey. More than 260 contestants entered Klamath Falls, the rodeo is co-sanctioned by the Columbia River and California Circuit's.
This will be my first chance to announce a rodeo back home in Klamath County, the rodeo is being sponsored by KIX 96 in Klamath Falls, the radio station that carries Rodeo Profiles in the Klamath Basin.
Slack is Thursday afternoon beginning at 6 PM in Klamath Falls, the rodeo's two performances are Friday and Saturday night. If you are in Southern Oregon we'll see you there.
