Seven Columbia River Circuit Rodeos are putting together a new series for bareback riders this year...
Attention bareback riders, especially PRCA Rookies and Permit Holders…A special series has been set up with you in mind.
The Beard Rodeo Company of Ellensburg, WA is working in partnership with seven of it’s producing rodeo committee’s to produce a series specifically tailored toward rookie and permit bareback riders.
The 67th annual Sisters Rodeo June 8-10 will be the first rodeo of the series.
The rest of the series schedule includes the Crooked River Round-Up in Prineville, June 22-24, the Toppenish Pro Rodeo July 4-6, the Fort Dalles Days Pro Rodeo July 19-21, The Thunder Mountain Pro Rodeo in Longview, WA August 2-4, The Moses Lake Round-Up in Moses Lake, WA August 16-18, and the North Idaho Fair in Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho August 24-26.
Shawn Connolly of the Crooked River Round-Up says bareback riding rookies and permit holders will need to enter 5 of the 7 rodeos to be eligible for the series. Their scores at each rodeo will be added together with the champions determined on the aggregate total.
1st place will mean a buckle for the champion sponsored by the Crooked River Round-Up and $700 in bonus money. Second place will pay $525, third place $350 and fourth $175.
