This is a big week...
Rodeo Houston will end Saturday, handing out
$50,000 bonuses to each of it's event
champions.
The Dodge National Circuit Finals is this
week, with the first performance Wednesday
night, March 14 and the final round of the
tournament style rodeo Saturday night.
DNCFR Executive Director
K.T. Anderson is excited about this year’s
field and about putting another top-notch
event in Pocatello.
“You need a mixture of
new guys, former world champions and some
people who are knocking on the door to be
world champions to make the event
successful,” Anderson said. “We’ve got that,
and that’s what makes our event work very,
very well. The cowboys tell us that this is
almost like a vacation for them because
they’re treated so well. This is the only
other national event besides the Wrangler
NFR that the PRCA has, so we’re the other
national championship.” You can hear a
complete interview with K.T. Anderson on our
interview page...
In the Pacific Northwest the Northwest
Professional Rodeo Association holds it's
first rodeo of 2007, in Elma, WA on Friday,
Saturday and Sunday. The rodeo features
extra added money in the steer wrestling in
memory of a long time rodeo supporter who
loved the event.
This year marks the 14th anniversary of the
Elma Rodeo, the first for NPRA members who
are trying to qualify for the finals in
September in Sisters, OR.
We'll have updates from all of these events
on our blog page...
