Wilderness Circuit Finals

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Qualification for the
2007 Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo
continues this weekend with the Dodge Texas
Circuit Finals Rodeo, presented by the U.S.
Smokeless Tobacco Co., Jan. 4-6 in Waco. The
Dodge Texas Circuit Rodeo’s average champions,
as well as winners in the year-end standings,
advance to the DNCFR, March 14-17 in Pocatello,
Idaho.
The Wilderness Circuit most recently added to
the list of qualifiers for Pocatello after its
three-day circuit finals rodeo, Dec. 28-30 in
Ogden, Utah.
Bareback rider Josi Young of Buhl, Idaho,
defended his circuit finals title, winning his
event by riding three head for 236 points.
Tie-down roper Nate Baldwin of Blackfoot, Idaho,
claimed the circuit’s average title for the
second time in three years after recording a
total time of 27.7 seconds on three head.
Other Wilderness Circuit’s average champions
were Anthony Bello, Oakley, Utah, saddle bronc
riding, 236 points on three head; Steve Woolsey,
Payson, Utah, bull riding, 249 points on three
head; Tommy Cook, McAlester, Okla., steer
wrestling, 12.0 seconds on three head; Jon
Stafford, Nampa, Idaho/Dusty Morse, Ogden, Utah,
team roping, 19.3 seconds on three head; and
Terri Wood Gates, West Jordan, Utah, barrel
racing. |
