Denver Finale This Weekend

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The 2007 edition
of the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour moves from the
desert of West Texas to the foothills of the
Rocky Mountains when stop No. 2 pays a visit
to the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo
in Denver.
The National Western Stock Show & Rodeo is
holding its 101st edition in 2007 and has
been a venue on the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour
since its debut in 2000.
The event started on Jan. 6 and concludes
with the Wrangler Tour round on Jan. 21 at 2
p.m. MT.
The National Western features the best in
ProRodeo competing for Tour earnings and a
spot in the first of four Wrangler ProRodeo
Tour Championship events this summer. This
year’s Wrangler ProRodeo Tour consist of 21
rodeos taking place through August.
Contestants will choose 15 out of the 21
rodeos to count towards their official Tour
Rodeo count and will be competing for money
this year versus points, as in years past.
At the conclusion of the 21st rodeo, the top
35 contestants in total Tour money and each
event champion from the 2007 Dodge National
Circuit Finals Rodeo will move on to the
first Tour Championship event. From there,
the top 22 in total Tour money, as well as
the DNCFR “Wild Card” and the champion from
the first Tour Championship event will
advance to the field of 24 to the second
Tour Championship event. At the conclusion
of that rodeo, the field will be cut to 12,
then to eight and finally to four. The
Championship sites will be released at a
later date. Fox Sports Network and CBS are
scheduled to televise the Championship
