The
first ever WPRA Mega Finale
From wpra.com...
As the Women's Professional Rodeo Association
begins a new chapter this year, it does so in
record fashion. For the first time in history,
the WPRA will payout $100,000 to the barrel
racer with the fastest time on one run during
the WPRA Finish Line Mega Finale at the Diamond
W Arena in Alvarado, Texas, January 16-20. A
total of 40 contestants will get a shot at the
prize. Each entrant must pay a $5,000 entry fee
and only WPRA members are allowed to ride in the
competition, but the 40 entry slots are open to
anyone including horse owners who wish to pay
the entry fee. Billed as the Miller Lite Richest
Run, it will be held on Friday evening, January
19th, following round two of the Coors Women's
National Finals Rodeo.
The WPRA Finish Line Mega Finale also includes
the 2006 season finals of the Coors Women's
National Finals Rodeo, the Dodge Rodeo Pro
Futurity Finals, the JB Quarter Horses Pro Derby
Finals, the Wrangler Divisional Tour Finals and
a 4D Challenger Race and Finals. The action
began Tuesday morning January 16 and runs
through Saturday, Jan. 20. The Women's National
Finals Rodeo will be held January 18-20 and will
feature the top 105 WPRA contestants in the
events of bareback riding, bull riding,
breakaway roping, team roping, tie-down roping
and barrel racing. World titles will be awarded
following the final performance on Saturday
night.
