Merry Christmas to the Family of bull rider
Dustin Elliott
From prorodeo.com
It wasn't the Christmas present world
champion bull rider Dustin Elliott and his
wife Cynthia were expecting, but they are
thankful for the gift just the same. The
Elliott's were expecting twins, a boy and a
girl, on March 10. However, when they
returned to Nebraska from the Wrangler
National Finals Rodeo, Cynthia had one of
her regular checkups and learned that things
were progressing faster than they should be.
Her doctor in North Platte sent her to a
specialist in Lincoln, where they
immediately put her on bedrest at St.
Elizabeth Hospital. They monitored her until
Christmas Eve morning, when Ethan and Emma
Elliott entered the world. Ethan was born
naturally and weighed just 3 lbs., while
Emma was taken by emergency Caesarean
section and weighed just over 2 lbs.
Both babies were put on oxygen, with Ethan
being taken off on his two-week birthday.
Emma was still on high-flow oxygen at press
time. According to Dustin, everyone is doing
well and that the babies are eating well and
gaining weight.
Doctors expect for the two to remain in the
hospital in Lincoln until March 10, their
original due date. For those wishing to send
the Elliotts a note you can email them at
