Wild Rogue Pro Rodeo
Steer wrestler Tommy Cook from Oklahoma
won his event at the Wild Rogue Pro
Rodeo in Central Point, Oregon over the
weekend. Cook, from Heber City, UT...is
knocking on the door of a return trip to
the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. He
is 16th in the PRCA's steer wrestling
standings. He's won $54,000 this year
and is about $2,400 behind the number 15
man, Gabe LeDoux from Louisiana.
The rodeo was the 41st of 41 rodeo's
that count toward this year's Dodge
Columbia River Circuit Finals next month
in Redmond, Oregon. Tie down roper Brian
West from Oak Harbor, Washington won his
event and more than $1,200. In the
process he migh have vaulted from number
13 into the top 12 and a qualification
for the circuit finals. West's wife
Barb, the reigning Columbia River
Circuit barrel racing champion, split
first in her event with former champion
Amy Coelho from Echo, Oregon. Coelho was
on the bubble for the circuit finals
prior to Central Point and secured her
spot in Redmond with the win.
