Beaver's Omaha performance might get him to the NFR in two events.

Joe Beaver from Texas could be on his way to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in two events after his performance at the Summer Tour Finale in Omaha, Nebraska over the weekend.

Beaver moved from 16th to sixth in the PRCA's heading standings when he teamed with Jhett Johnson to win the team roping title in Omaha and more than $13,000 a piece. Beaver is third in the all-around, he's 8th in the tie down roping with more than $66,000 and 6th in the team roping with earnings of more than $56,000.

Beaver, the PRCA's all-time career money leader, wasn't the only contestant in Omaha to significantly improve his NFR chances at the finale.

Steer Wrestler Jason Lahr from Kansas won more than $11,000 in Omaha and moved from 16th to 7th in the world standings. Tie down roper Scott Kormos from Texas jumped from 17th to ninth, bronc rider Bobby Griswold from Oklahoma moved from 16th to 13th in Omaha.

Barrel Racer Shelly Anzick from Montana, who said in an interview recently that her horse Buster "Really wants to make it to the NFR" took a huge step in that direction in Omaha. She won her event at the rodeo and moved up to 5th in the WPRA with earnings of more than $64,000 for the year.
